Welcome! We at B.S. Ricks Memorial Library are so glad you found us. We may be on the National Register of Historic Places, but our philosophy is completely modern.

This past year, over 63,000 of you visited us. Our public access computers were used over 14,000 times and our free wireless internet was used well over 1,000 times.

Additionally, our meeting rooms were used 163 times by 1,802 people and we answered over 4,000 reference questions.

On average, we receive 60 new patrons per month. This is pretty impressive considering our public library building has served Yazoo County since 1902 and the total population of Yazoo County is just under 28,000.

Read the American Library Association’s I Love Libraries webpage for a review of our library. Better yet, come visit us. We’ll be happy to give you a tour of the oldest library in continuous use in Mississippi, assist you with your genealogy project, help you with your resume, recommend a good book, assist you with your research project, let you use one of our meeting rooms, show you a comfy spot to use our free wireless internet…… and the list goes on!
